Toys for Hospitalized Children opened “Yarden’s Closet” at Safra Children’s Hospital at Sheba, in memory of Yarden Pinhas, an 8-year-old angel who passed away after a long battle with cancer.

The event began with Yarden’s family unpacking boxes filled with toys, games, and gifts, and carefully placing on each a unique sticker stating, “A gift from Yarden’s Closet.” The family then loaded up the closet, which will be an integral part of the department.

Once the closet was full of magnificent toys, Yarden’s mom, dad, and siblings went through the children’s wards, visiting each child at their bedside, handing out toys, singing with them, and sharing words of inspiration.

They spoke with the young patients, shared smiles, and brought moments of happiness to children spending long days in the hospital.

Yarden’s Closet will remain stocked with toys and gifts, giving hospitalized children something to look forward to and continuing Yarden’s legacy of joy.

The opening was attended by the Pinhas family, Department Head Prof. Raz Somech, Toys for Hospitalized Children leadership, and the TOYS team. Watch the emotional opening here!
